The North Face of Kailas

Location: West Tibet

Height: 6741 meters (22,021 feet)

Difficulty: trekking.

Description:
We do not climb Mount Kailas, but circle the mountain in a three to four day walk. After a west Nepal trek from Simikot, of 7 days, which also serves as an acclimatisation period, we travel by road through Charikot and the to Kailas. This allows us a visit to lakes Manasarovar and Rakas Tal. After, trekking clients drive to Lhasa (Tibet) whilst climbers may return south to Gurla Mandata (7700 meters).

The North side of Cho-Oyu

Location: Tibet / Nepal border in central Himalaya close to Everest

Height: 8153 meters (27978 feet)

Difficulty: Not technical - steep sections are fixed - but expedition considerations of height, cold and isolation apply.
